We bought this wonderful handcrafted wood coffee grinder at an estate sale nearly 20yrs ago. This is a beautiful piece, fully functional and completely intact. We have always had it displayed as a conversation piece and not an actively used coffee grinder. I certainly do not recommend grinding your favorite coffee beans in it. It has always been treated with TLC. Again, since we will be moving to FL, we MUST lighten the load and unload some great items.
When you look closely at this machine, you can clerly see that all the threads holding the grinder together are strong and flush on all four corners. The drawer where the grindings fall into is quite clean and the drawer opens and closes perfectly. By no means is the wood in perfect condition. Mind u that it is nearly 115yrs old. With that in mind, it will be completely up to its new owner whether or not to sand it down and stain it, etc.PERFECT conversation piece for your kitchen. We toyed with the idea over the years but we simply love that truly VINTAGE LOOK and APPEAL. Again, can easily be sanded and stained if u so choose. NO WOOD WHARPING!!! There is a manufacturing label on the front in which many of the words are difficult to read due to fading. I was able to decipher that it was made/PATENTED Sept 21st, 1895. I can read only two consecutive words, "FAVORITE KIND"? It is nearly impossible to decipher the rest. This is truly a RARE FIND. Thank You very much. ERIC
