Hand-Painted on a fine hand-made authentic Egyptian Papyrus, this painting of Cleopatra's head portrait, is framed in a stunning, classic gold, natural wood frame. A Greco-Roman style frame accentuated with carved decorative edges. Queen Cleopatra VII (69 B.C. - 30 B.C.) was the last Pharaoh of ancient Egyptian history. She aligned herself with Julius Caesar to solidify her grip on the throne of Egypt. After Caesar's assassination she seduced Mark Antony and united with him against Rome. However, at the end, the couple lost to Octaviu's the first Roman Emperor. Cleopatra's reign marks the last of the Hellenistic Era and the beginning of the Roman occupation of Egypt which lasted for centuries. Greek Museum, Alexandria, Egypt. Size: L 18" X W 14"
