I'm going to continue my story from Trinidad - after moving to New York I was bombarded by the different styles and possibilities in jewelry making. Let's not forget the literature, I was always a bookworm ,science fiction and fantasy being my favorites.
My imagination is wide and I like to live in the fantasies of the "what-if" during everyday life. One of my favorite fantasies was walking home from work at night only to encounter a talking black cat, no other name seemed right other than "Panzell". Its a funny typo on the T9 texting program (you guys who still use the numpad to text know what I mean). Anyways, the name was linked to all the quirky ideas whipped up in my cortex, just like my jewelry.
I think of my style as Asian Tribal. I do love asian jewelry styles, but that heavy earthiness you get from the tribal styles is so fierce. Not mention a little grunge city girl thrown in there all equals to my kinda style of jewelry. It's about color, shape and I love this word "architecture" of a piece that makes it's worth.
